Parable of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson
about a battle that goes on inside all people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two
wolves that dwell inside each and everyone of us.

“One is Evil.
It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority,
lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good.
It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity,
truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for
a minute, and then asked his grandfather:

“Which wolf will win ?”

The old Cherokee simply replied:
“The one you feed.”

Glad to see you’re back Alex. Very nice post. I feel the same way when I get angry. It doesn’t feel healthy, and this shows why. I’m feeding the wrong dog.

Glad you liked it. I’m writing a duality article, so let me know of any duality myths from others more obscure cultures you might have come across.
